Marlins-Nationals opener in a rain delay in DC

WASHINGTON -- Friday's game between the Marlins and Nationals has been delayed because of inclement weather. First pitch is slated for 8:45 p.m. ET.

When the game gets underway, A.J. Cole will start for the Nationals, while Andrew Cashner takes the hill for Miami.

The Nationals are playing for home-field advantage in the National League Division Series against the Dodgers. Washington currently holds a two-game lead over Los Angeles. With three games left, the magic number is two for the postseason to start next Friday at Nationals Park. Right-hander Max Scherzer is expected to start Game 1 of the NLDS for Washington.
