Braves and Giants complete trade

Atlanta, Ga. - The Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants completed a trade tonight as the Braves have acquired minor-league infielder Rich Rodriguez from the Giants in exchange for infielder Gordon Beckham.

Rodriguez, 23, completed his sixth minor league season in 2016, all with the Giants organization, and owns a career batting average of .264 (217-for-821) with 18 doubles and 68 RBI in 264 games.

Beckham, who was in his first year with Atlanta after signing as a free agent on December 9, 2015, hit .217 with 16 doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI in 85 games for the Braves this season.
