A's recall LHP Dillon Overton from Nashville
The Oakland A's recalled left-handed pitcher Dillon Overton from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
Overton joins the A's for the fourth time this year and is 1-3 with a 10.97 ERA in five starts. He has surrendered 11 home runs in 21.1 innings and has allowed a .413 opponents batting average. The 25-year-old left-hander was last with Oakland from July 30 to Aug. 5 and went 0-2 with a 17.05 ERA in two starts. Overton spent the balance of the season with Nashville, where he was 13-5 with a 3.29 ERA in 21 games, including 20 starts. His 13 wins led the A's farm system, ranked third in the Pacific Coast League and tied for 13th in all of minor league baseball. Overton also ranked fifth in the PCL in ERA. He went 3-1 with a 3.68 ERA in four starts with the Sounds following his most recent option from Oakland on Aug. 6 and took the loss in his only postseason start, allowing five runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings in a 5-2 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the PCL Semifinals a week ago today.
