Twins announce 2017 schedule

Home Opener Slated for April 3 vs. Kansas City Royals

The Minnesota Twins today announced their preliminary regular season schedule for the 2017 season, the team's 57th campaign in Twins Territory.

Minnesota will open the season at home against the Kansas City Royals (April 3, 5-6) followed by the club's first roadtrip of the season, with stops at the Chicago White Sox (April 7-9) and the Detroit Tigers (April 11-13).

The Twins will play 20 Interleague games dispersed throughout the course of the 2017 regular season (3 in May / 3 in June / 3 in July / 9 in August / 2 in September). The home Interleague schedule includes a "home and home" series against the Milwaukee Brewers (August 7-8 at Target Field), a series against the Colorado Rockies (May 16-18), a set against the Arizona Diamondbacks (August 18-20) and a visit by the San Diego Padres (September 12-13). In addition, the Twins will make Interleague roadtrips to the Milwaukee Brewers (August 9-10), the San Francisco Giants (June 9-11) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (July 24-26).

The Twins 2017 schedule features 44 home games between Memorial Day (May 29) and Labor Day (September 4). The Twins will play 13 home games in the month of April, 18 in May, 10 in June, 13 in July, 15 in August and 12 in September. Other home schedule highlights include a weekend series against the Boston Red Sox (May 5-7), a Memorial Day series against the Houston Astros (May 29-31), an Independence Day game against the Los Angeles Angels (July 4) and a weekend four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays (September 14-17).

The Twins will play each of their American League Central Division rivals 19 times: the Chicago White Sox (9 home/10 away), the Kansas City Royals (9 home/10 away), the Detroit Tigers (9 home/10 away) and the Cleveland Indians (10 home/9 away). The Twins will face all American League Central Division teams three series at home and three series on the road.
