Fantasy 411 chat: Best way to handle Stanton?

MLB.com fantasy expert Fred Zinkie fielded questions from fans during a live Twitter chat (@fantasy411) on Monday. Read through the best of the Q&A below. Questions and answers have been edited for clarity.

@PHDMAC: What should I do with Giancarlo Stanton?

Fred Zinkie: Leave him on your disabled list. You can't activate him until he is regularly starting games.

@ChrisRockford9: Should I drop A.J. Pollock for Kevin Kiermaier, Byron Buxton or Yasiel Puig?

Zinkie: Yes. You can't wait around at this point in the season. Pick up Kiermaier.

@rotologo: Should I start Cameron Rupp, Jorge Alfaro or Tom Murphy down the stretch? Also, should I hold onto Stephen Strasburg?

Zinkie: Start Rupp. And I think that you can safely drop Strasburg.

@MAS8823: Should I start or sit Danny Valencia this week amid rumors he could be released before season's end?

Zinkie: Assuming that he is normally part of your lineup, you should keep him there.

@JTlove11: Would you rather own Jake Odorizzi or Jose De Leon?

Zinkie: I would rather own De Leon for this week but Odorizzi for the rest of the season.

@Schara845: Should I play Welington Castillo or Salvador Perez at catcher this week? Both are slumping.

Zinkie: You should start Castillo. He has a favorable schedule.

@LyndonBryanton: Can I drop Pollock for Alex Bregman? If so, start Bregman over DJ LeMahieu this week?

Zinkie: You should add Bregman, but I would start LeMahieu for this week.

@KingLuke21: Aledmys Diaz just came off the disabled list. Should I switch him for either Jung Ho Kang or Mike Napoli?

Zinkie: Keep Diaz on your bench this week.

@juliantharmsen: Should I drop Lorenzo Cain for Yulieski Gurriel?

Zinkie: Yes, you can make that move. It is hard to envision Cain making a major impact down the stretch.

@albertmatos: Should I bench Tony Watson for Tyler Thornburg this week?

Zinkie: Go with Watson. He has eight games, and volume matters with closers.

@khendler6: Starling Marte hasn't swung a bat in a week. Should I start him, Kevin Pillar or Aaron Judge this week?

Zinkie: Start Pillar. Hard to know exactly when Marte will return.

@prolixERG: Who is a better keeper for next season: Trea Turner or Bregman?

Zinkie: I'll take Turner. His steals total could make him special. I really like Bregman as well.

@Hardbody73: Should I drop Brandon Kintzler for Hunter Strickland?

Zinkie: I worry that the Giants will share save chances. Stick with Kintzler.

@THEJoPo1983: Should I sit Carlos Martinez against the Cubs for either Seth Lugo or Chad Bettis?

Zinkie: I would strongly consider Lugo against the Twins.

@prattin: Please rank Dylan Bundy, De Leon and Julio Urias as two-start pitchers for this week only.

Zinkie: De Leon, Urias, Bundy.

@2Stickss: Should I drop Pollock for Jose Peraza, Michael Saunders, Carlos Gomez, Miguel Sano or Melvin Upton Jr.?

Zinkie: Drop him for Peraza.

@lambo1332: Who should I choose as a keeper next year between Andrew Benintendi or Edwin Diaz?

Zinkie: It's hard to keep a closer, but I would keep Diaz anyway. His strikeout rate is special.

@carlospudge: Do you still trust Watson this week? It looks like he may get ample save chances.

Zinkie: There is definitely cause for concern. But if you are stuck for saves, you likely need to use him.

@Pat_DeCola: Is it worth starting Stanton in any scenario?

Zinkie: The only scenario I can see is an NL-only league.

@SportsCreep31: Will David Phelps pitch this week?

Zinkie: My guess is that he will pitch this week. But I don't have anything official.
