Angels name duo as Draft reps

Angels name Draft representatives

ANAHEIM -- While Angels third baseman Chone Figgins enjoys a much-deserved day off on June 7 after the Angels will have been scheduled to play 16 straight days, his older brother, Demetrius Figgins, a scout, will represent the club at the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. The draft will be held June 7-8 at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla.

The elder Figgins, an assistant baseball coach at Blake High School in Tampa from 2002-2004, is the organization's Southern Florida scout. He had a brief career in the Minors, signing with the Newburgh Nighthawks of the Northeast League in 1995 before moving on to the Nashua Hawks of the North Atlantic League the following year.

Figgins will be joined by Atlantic States area scout Dan Radcliff in representing the Halos.

Fans can follow each pick of the draft with MLB.com's live Draft Tracker. Day 1 coverage starts at 11 a.m. PT. The first round will also be shown on ESPN2. Day 2 coverage starts at 8:30 a.m. PT.
