Pirates host Brewers, Cardinals and Reds on 10-game homestand

The Bucs return to PNC Park for the 11th homestand of the season, a 10-game stay where the team will host the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. This homestand is highlighted by a celebration of the 1971 World Championship Pirates during the weekend of Friday, September 2 thru Sunday, September 4, as well as Roberto Clemente Day on Wednesday, September 7 and Yoga Day at PNC Park on Sunday, September 11.

No Fees: As a part of our Stretch Run this September, the Pirates are paying ticket service fees for all regular-priced adult tickets to all remaining Pirates home games. Order tickets through Monday, September 5, to any remaining game at PNC Park at pirates.com/NoFees to take advantage of this special offer.


Friday, September 2, 2016 - Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers (7:05 p.m.)

  • Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day: Today the Pirates will host 25 very special guests at PNC Park as part of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day. The day will begin at 5 p.m. in the PNC Park Press Conference Room as the team will partner with the St. Baldrick's Foundation and Sport Clips for a "celebrity head shaving" with members of the Pirates. The group will then participate in a special pregame on-field ceremony where Pirates players, coaches and wives will present each kid with their own Pirates superhero cape. The group will also have the opportunity to enjoy the game from one of two World Series Suites in true VIP-style. Children and their families will enjoy a superhero-themed evening with balloon artists, visits from superheroes, great ballpark menu items provided by Levy Restaurants through their Levy Cares program, and more. The Pirates also partnered with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Pittsburgh, CCChampions, Our Clubhouse, the Emily Whitehead Foundation and Lending Hearts on the in-game party.
  • 50/50 Raffle: Tonight's Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will benefit several local non-profits that provide support to children with cancer and their families.
  • Free Shirt Friday: Tonight is a Free Shirt Friday at PNC Park as the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a special Pirates 1971-themed tee, presented by FedEx Ground.
  • Block Party: Tonight the Pirates and Baierl Automotive will host their Friday Block Party on Federal Street. Fans can party on the street with live music, along with food and beer sales.   • Kids 1971 Snapback: Today, all kids 14 years of age and under will receive a Pirates 1971-themed flat bill snapback cap, presented by PPG.

Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals (7:05 p.m.) - Roberto Clemente Day

  • Clemente Day: As part of the celebration in honor of the great Roberto Clemente, members of the Pirates will visit a Pittsburgh area school to deliver much needed school supplies and equipment. This year the Pirates will visit Pittsburgh King PreK-8, a Pittsburgh public school located in the North Side neighborhood (50 Montgomery Pl.), to join students for a lunch and hand deliver backpacks filled with school supplies and food.
  • Fiesta Latina: Today in celebration of Roberto Clemente Day, the Pirates will host the second annual Fiesta Latina at PNC Park.   • African-American Heritage Sports Luncheon: In celebration of African-American heritage in sports, the Pirates are hosting a free, invite only, luncheon at PNC Park Lexus Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker is Tyrone Brooks, Major League Baseball's Senior Director of Front Office and Field Staff Diversity Pipeline Program. Brooks will speak about professional baseball's progress since the Negro Leagues, as well as career opportunities with MLB for the diverse community. Brooks, the Pirates former Director of Player Personnel from 2011-2015, will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch before tonight's game.
  • Heritage Celebration: Tonight the Pirates and Reds will take part in the Heritage Celebration and honor teams of the Negro Leagues on the field as the Pirates will wear uniforms of the Homestead Grays and the Reds will wear Cincinnati Tigers uniforms. The jerseys from tonight's game will be authenticated and available for auction at a later date on pirates.com/auctions.
  • Heritage Night Free Shirt Friday: Tonight is a Free Shirt Friday at PNC Park as the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a special Homestead Grays tee, presented by Trib Total Media.

Renew for 2017
The Pirates are in the stretch run for the 2016 Postseason and now is a perfect time to renew your 2017 Season Ticket Membership to continue the great benefits of being a Pirates Season Ticket Member. Pirates Charities, Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle and his wife, Karla, announced the return of the "Wins for Kids" fundraising campaign for the 2016 season, in partnership with ROOT SPORTS™. The program is now in its sixth season of raising funds for Pirates Charities and The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh's Center for Prader-Willi Syndrome, through donations from fans and supporters, including a significant gift from the Greenbriar Treatment Center.
