Gettys' 2 HRs power Lake Elsinore to win

Lamet, Nix, Lauer have strong starts

The Padres' two full-season Class A teams put in offensive shows in wins Saturday night.

Center fielder Michael Gettys hit two home runs to lead Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore to a come-from-behind, 10-8 win at High Desert.

And shortstop Chris Baker fell a double short of the cycle as Class A Fort Wayne had season-highs in runs (15) and hits (20) in a 15-4 win over West Michigan in Fort Wayne.

Elsewhere, right-handed starter Dinelson Lamet allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts in his debut for Triple-A El Paso in a loss at Albuquerque. Right-hander Jake Nix allowed a run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six innings for Fort Wayne. And left-handed starter Eric Lauer -- the Padres' third, first-round Draft pick in June -- allowed a run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings for short-season Class A Tri-City.

Gettys (.310) was 3-for-5 with his eighth and ninth homers, three RBIs and three runs scored for the Storm (33-29 in the second half, 65-67 overall in the California League). Shortstop Ruddy Giron (.389) was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Second base Luis Urias (.328) was 2-for-5 with a double and a RBI.

Starting right-hander Enyel De Los Santos (4.76 ERA) allowed six runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings. Right-hander Gerardo Reyes (1-3, 5.64) struck out two in a perfect innings. Right-hander Trey Wingenter (2.03) issued a walk with two strikeouts in a hitless/scoreless inning for his third save.

At Fort Wayne, second baseman Peter Van Gansen (.234) was 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored and Baker was one of three TinCaps with three hits as Fort Wayne improved to 24-38 and 60-72.

Baker (.286) had his second homer, a triple and a single in five at-bats for three RBIs and three runs scored. Catcher Austin Allen (.313) was 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Left fielder Kodie Tidwell (.252) was 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, a RBI and two runs scored.

Right-hander Evan Miller (0.00 ERA) followed Nix (3-7, 3.84) and issued a walk with two strikeouts in two hitless innings. Right-hander Aaron Cressley (4.60) allowed three runs on four hits in an inning.

AROUND THE FARM

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (70-64): ALBUQUERQUE 5, Chihuahuas 4. 3B Nick Noonan (.309) had a homer in four at-bats. CF Manuel Margot (.303) was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored. RHP Derek Eitel (3.72) followed Lamet (0-1) and pitched a perfect inning. RHP Rafael De Paula (4.00) allowed a hit with a strikeout in two-thirds of a scoreless inning.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (33-28, 55-76): CORPUS CHRISTI 5, Missions 1. LF Luis Tejada (.241) was 1-for-3 with his fourth homer. C Rocky Gale (.216) was 1-for-3 with a walk. Starting RHP Kyle Lloyd (6-7, 3.43 ERA) allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in seven innings. RHP Yimmi Brasoban (2.76) allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning.

SHORT-SEASON TRI-CITY (12-17, 31-36): Dust Devils 9, SPOKANE 3. 1B G.K. Young (.221) hit his third homer in three at-bats for three RBIs and three walks. CF Buddy Reed (.249) was 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, a RBI and two runs scored. RHP Adrian De Horta (2-1, 3.47 ERA) followed Lauer (1.44 ERA) and allowed two unearned runs on two hits with four strikeouts in four innings. LHP Trevor Seidenberger (0.00) pitched a perfect inning.

ARIZONA ROOKIE PADRES (11-14, 23-30): ROYALS 6, Padres 5. SS Jemile Weeks (.556) was 2-for-3 with a double. 2B Eguy Rosario (.400) had two doubles in four at-bats with a run scored. CF Aldemar Burgos (.172) had a two-run homer in two at-bats. Starting LHP Dan Dallas (3.09 ERA) allowed a run on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in three innings
