The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the appointment of three executives to new positions in the organization, including Andrew Pauls to vice president of business development, Tai Pauls to senior director of hospitality and special events, and Mike Schwartz to senior director of strategy and analytics.
"These three executives are leading new departments that will generate new opportunities for us to grow our business and enhance the fan experience at Miller Park," said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers Chief Operating Officer. "Andrew, Tai and Mike have been key performers in our organization and are uniquely suited to these leadership roles."
Andrew Pauls, who is in his 11th season in the organization, has spent the past six seasons (2011-16) as senior director of corporate marketing. He served as director of corporate marketing from 2009-10 and manager of suite sales from 2005-08. In his new role, Pauls will assist with sales within all revenue generating departments, while continuing to manage a number of the Club's corporate partnerships.
A native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Pauls is a 1998 graduate of the University of Oregon where he received a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. He began his career in New York City at the public relations firm, Ruder Finn. Prior to working with the Brewers, Pauls also founded and managed a web development company in New York and a sales and marketing consulting firm in Milwaukee.
Tai Pauls began her career with the Brewers in the ticket sales department in 2006. She transitioned into the suites department as manager of suite services before moving to the Brewers Enterprises department in 2008. There she managed non-game events at Miller Park, most recently as director of Brewers special events. In her new role, Pauls will continue oversight of special events and will work closely with other fan-facing departments to develop a holistic focus on guest, client and event hospitality. Additionally, she will guide the Club's partnership with Delaware North Sportservice, working with the ballpark concessionaire on food and beverage strategy and customer service at Miller Park.
A Milwaukee native, Pauls graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with degrees in sports management and fine arts.
Schwartz rejoined the Brewers organization in January 2016 as director of food and beverage hospitality. He previously spent six years with the Brewers in the baseball operations department (2004-09), most recently as coordinator of baseball research and special projects. In his new position, Schwartz will be responsible for leading and developing a newly-created department that will provide strategic, quantitative, and qualitative support to all functions within the Brewers business operations.
Prior to returning to the Brewers, Schwartz served as a brand manager at Kraft Heinz Company. A 2004 graduate of Indiana University, Schwartz earned a dual bachelor's degree in sport marketing and management, and business management. He earned his master of business administration degree in 2011 from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Schwartz and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children, son Matthew (4), daughter Thea (3), and son Nathaniel (1).
