Ozuna exits opener due to family emergency

MIAMI -- Marlins center fielder Marcell Ozuna left Tuesday night's 1-0 loss to the Royals because of a family emergency, the club announced during the eighth inning.

No other details were provided by the club. Ozuna did not come out for the eighth inning and was replaced by Robert Andino.

"He had a little family emergency," manager Don Mattingly said after the series opener at Marlins Park. "It's a personal thing, so if he wants to talk about it tomorrow, whenever, I'll let him."

Mattingly said he did not know whether Ozuna will miss any games.

"I really don't know what's going to happen. We'll know more tomorrow," Mattingly said.

Ozuna had one hit, a double in the sixth inning, in three at-bats before exiting the game.
