Duke Energy is now accepting applications from Tampa Bay-area agencies working to support veterans in our community to receive funds raised through their 2016 Victories for Veterans program. Through this program, Duke Energy contributes $1,000 for every Rays regular season win to organizations serving veterans in Pinellas and Pasco counties. So far this season, the donation total is $52,000.
Duke Energy will collect submissions from 501(c)3 agencies to receive a portion of funds raised, up to $10,000 each, until August 26.
"Duke Energy is proud to partner with the Tampa Bay Rays to honor local veterans through this unique initiative," said Alex Glenn, state president, Duke Energy - Florida. "It will have a lasting effect on our community and is one of the many ways our company supports the men and women who have served our country."
