Josh Donaldson named Honda Player of the Month

TORONTO BLUE JAYS 3B JOSH DONALDSON has been namedHONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH winner for July by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA. Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity of his choosing.

DONALDSON hit .316 in July with 13 extra base hits, including six home runs and 21 RBI.   He also was second in the American League in July with 21 runs scored and an on-base percentage of .440. In July Donaldson also became the sixth player in AL history to record at least 80 runs scored and hit 20 home runs prior to the All-Star break. He joined Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Reggie Jackson, Frank Thomas and Alex Rodriguez.

Finishing a close second in the voting was LHP JA HAPP (4-0, 1.44). Also receiving consideration was RHP ROBERTO OSUNA (0-0-7, 0.00), RHP AARON SANCHEZ (3-0, 1.59) and EDWIN ENCARNACION(.284, 7HR, 9RBI).
