Rockies reinstate left-handed pitcher Chris Rusin from the disabled list

Placed right-hander Jason Motte on 15-day disabled list with rotator cuff strain

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Chris Rusin from the 15-day disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Jason Motte on the 15-day DL with a right rotator cuff strain (retroactive to Tuesday, July 26).

Rusin, 29, was placed on the disabled list on June 14 with a strained left shoulder …  in three rehab starts with Triple-A Albuquerque, went 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA (9.1 IP, 6 ER), three walks and 11 strikeouts …  is 2-4 with a 4.12 ERA (54.2 IP, 25 ER) in 12 appearances, seven starts, with the Rockies this season … as a starter, is 1-4 with a 5.08 ERA (39.0 IP, 22 ER), 15 walks and 28 strikeouts … as a reliever, is 1-0 with a 1.72 ERA (15.2 IP, 3 ER), two walks and 11 strikeouts … in his career with Chicago-NL (2012-2014) and Colorado (2015-2016), is 12-23 with a 4.97 ERA (295.0 IP, 163 ER), 98 walks and 190 strikeouts. Rusin Stats

Motte, 34, is 0-1 with a 5.66 ERA (20.2 IP, 13 ER) in 26 appearances with the Rockies this season … began the regular season on the disabled list due to a right shoulder strain … reinstated May 25 … went 8-1 with six saves and a 3.91 ERA (48.1 IP, 21 ER) in 57 appearances with the Chicago Cubs in 2015 … for his Major League career, Motte is 26-15 with 60 saves and a 3.31 ERA (354.0 IP, 130 ER) in 394 appearances with St. Louis (2008-14), Chicago-NL (2015) and Colorado (2016). Motte Stats
