White Sox place Brett Lawrie on 15-day disabled list

Recall Carlos Sanchez from Class AAA Charlotte

Prior to tonight's game at the Cubs, the Chicago White Sox placed infielder Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 22) with a strained left hamstring and recalled infielder Carlos Sanchez from Class AAA Charlotte.

Sanchez, 24 is hitting .143 (5-35) with two doubles, one RBI and four runs scored in 14 games over three stints with the White Sox in 2016. He is batting .255 (60-235) with 11 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 29 RBI, 17 walks and 10 stolen bases over 61 games with Charlotte this season.

Lawrie, 26, has not played since leaving the game on July 21 vs. Detroit. He is hitting .248 (87-351) with 22 doubles, 12 home runs, 36 RBI and 35 runs scored over 94 games this season, his first with the White Sox.
