Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, will host its fourth Spartan Race on Saturday, September 24, 2016. For one day only, athletes will have a chance to run a Spartan Race through one of Major League Baseball's best ballparks. Spartan Race will set up the obstacles around the ballpark, using existing structures and contours along with specially designed obstacles. Additionally, race day will feature the Spartan Kids Race, a specialized obstacle course for children between the ages of 5-12 and also the Special Spartans Heat, for special needs kids.
Spartan Race, the world's leading obstacle racing series, was voted Outside magazine's "Best Obstacle Race." With more than 1 million participants and 170 events planned around the globe this year, Spartan Race continues trailblazing the creation of one of the fastest growing sports in the world. And now the excitement of the Spartan Race is on NBC with Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge, as television raises the bar on team competition.
To make Spartans' return to Philadelphia even more special, Phillies fans will receive exclusive pricing of 20 percent off the registration price using the promotional code: "PHILLIESFAN." Parents can register their children under 13 years old for the Spartan Kids Race. Spartan Kids has 2k and 4k heats with 15+ obstacles. Targeting kids ages 5-12, each obstacle is crafted to instill child-like adventure, courage, camaraderie, and a sense of accomplishment. The "Special Spartans Heat" is also offered for young athletes with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and those with cognitive learning or vocational delays. Like the adults, all finishers will receive a free Spartan T-shirt and finisher's medal.
Fans who wish to be spectators can register for a $10 fee. Individuals and teams can go to SpartanRace.com to register and learn more. To see the official video of the event from past years go to:
