D-backs select Shipley from Triple-A Reno; option Bracho to Triple-A

De La Rosa transferred to the 60-day disabled list

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) selected RHP Braden Shipley (@Shipley25) from Triple-A Reno and optioned RHP Silvino Bracho to Reno, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

To make room on the 40-man roster, Arizona transferred RHP Rubby De La Rosa (right elbow inflammation) from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

Shipley, 24, went 8-5 with a 3.70 ERA (49 ER in 119.1 IP) in 19 starts with the Aces this season. He owns a lifetime 24-27 record with a 3.79 ERA (186 ER in 441.2 IP) in 81 games (80 starts) over parts of 4 Minor League seasons.

Shipley, the D-backs first-round selection (15th overall) in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, is rated as the No. 1 prospect in the D-backs system by both MLB.com and Baseball America. He will make his Major League debut tonight and will wear jersey No. 35.

Bracho, 24, has gone 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA (11 ER in 14.2 IP) in 15 games for the D-backs this season.

De La Rosa, 27, has been on the disabled list since May 27. He is 4-5 with a 4.15 ERA (22 ER in 47.2 IP) in 11 games (8 starts) for Arizona this season.
