Prior to today's game vs. Atlanta, the Chicago White Sox placed left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 6) with a sprained left wrist and recalled right-hander Tommy Kahnle from Class AAA Charlotte.
Kahnle, 26, has made five relief appearances with the White Sox this season, going 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA (3 ER/4.1 IP) and two strikeouts. He is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA (9 ER/27.0 IP), seven saves, 36 strikeouts and a .177 opponents average (17-96) over 23 appearances with Charlotte in 2016. Kahnle is limiting right-handers to a .136 mark (9-66), and 16 of his outings have been scoreless with the Knights.
Rodon, 23, is 2-7 with a 4.50 ERA (46 ER/92.0 IP) and 91 strikeouts over 16 starts this season, his second with Chicago.
