Josh Phegley has successful right knee surgery

OAKLAND, Calif. - Josh Phegley had successful surgery on his right knee today in San Francisco at Presidio Surgery Center. The surgery was performed by Dr. Jon Dickinson, who removed a cruciate ligament cyst from his knee. Phegley will have a follow up in 10 days to assess his progress.

Phegley was placed on the disabled list Sunday for the second time this year as he was also out from May 10 to 26 with a strained right knee. He is batting .256 with a home run and 10 RBI in 26 games with Oakland but was just 3-for-23 (.130) over his last eight contests.
