Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson and first baseman Edwin Encarnacion have been named Honda Player of the Month co-winners for June by the Toronto Chapter of the BBWAA. Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity of their choosing.
Donadlson hit .368 in June with 16 extra base hits, including six home runs, and a 1.193 OPS. His OPS was 2nd in the AL as was his .487 OBP.
Encarnacion recorded a .308 average with 11 home runs, 30 RBI and a 1.185 OPS. The 30 RBI led all of MLB and was also just the 4th Blue Jays to post 30+ in the June along with Delgado, Bautista and Olerud.
Also receiving consideration was right-hander Aaron Sanchez (4-0, 2.72).
