Mariners activate LHP Wade Miley from 15-day disabled list
Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced the following roster moves prior to tonight's (7:10 pm PT) game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates:
- Wade Miley, LHP, activated from the 15-day disabled list (left shoulder impingement).
- Nick Vincent, RHP, placed on the 15-day disabled list (mid back strain), retroactive to June 27.
Miley (#20) is the scheduled starting pitcher for tonight's game (7:10 pm PT) vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Miley, 29, appeared in 1 game with short-season A Everett on a rehabilitation assignment on June 24 vs. Boise. He struck out 7 while facing the minimum 12 batters over 4.0 scoreless innings pitched.
Miley is 6-3 with a 5.28 ERA (45 ER, 76.2 IP) in 13 starts this season. His placement on the disabled list was retroactive to June 13, the day following his last appearance (6/12 vs. Texas).
Miley was acquired from Boston along with RHP Jonathan Aro in exchange for RHP Carson Smith and LHP Roenis Elias on Dec. 7, 2015. Miley is 55-49 with a 4.06 ERA (410 ER, 909.0 IP) in 151 career appearances (147 starts) with Arizona, Boston and Seattle.
Vincent, 29, was 2-3 with 1 save with a 3.47 ERA (14 ER, 36.1 IP) with 42 strikeouts and 9 walks in 35 games this season. Vincent leads Seattle in appearances (35) while also leading Mariners relievers in strikeouts (42) and ranking 2nd among relievers in innings pitched (36.1 IP). Vincent earned the win in his Mariners debut, April 5 at Texas, tossing 1.0 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.
In parts of 5 Major League seasons with San Diego (2012-15) and Seattle (2016), Vincent is 11-9 with 2 saves with a 2.79 ERA (14 ER, 36.1 IP) with 203 strikeouts and 48 walks in 196 career appearances, all in relief. He was acquired from San Diego in exchange for player to be named later on Mar. 30, 2016.
