Banda picked to play in Futures Game

PHOENIX -- D-backs prospect Anthony Banda will be the organization's lone representative at the SiriusXM All-Star Futures game, which will take place July 10 as part of the All-Star Game festivities at Petco Park in San Diego.

Banda will play for the U.S. team against the World team. Arizona's No. 14 prospect, as ranked by MLBPipeline.com, is a left-handed pitcher currently playing for Triple-A Reno.

The 22-year-old was selected in the 10th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Brewers. He was dealt to the D-backs in 2014 as part of the trade for outfielder Gerardo Parra.

Banda went 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA in 13 starts for Double-A Mobile earlier this season. He was then promoted to Reno, where he made his first start Sunday, allowing seven runs (six earned) in five innings in a loss.
