Colorado Rockies select left-handed pitcher Yohan Flande from Triple-A Albuquerque

Right-handed pitcher Miguel Castro optioned to Triple-A

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Yohan Flande from Triple-A Albuquerque and optioned right-handed pitcher Miguel Castro to Triple-A.

  • Flande, 30, will be making his first appearance on the active roster this season … in 18 games, one start, with Triple-A this season, is 3-3 with a 4.25 ERA (42.1 IP, 20 ER), 52 hits, 14 walks and 27 strikeouts … he made 19 appearances, 10 starts, with the Rockies in 2015, going 3-3 with a 4.74 ERA (68.1 IP, 36 ER) … he made his Major League debut with the Rockies in 2014, going 0-6 with a 5.19 ERA (59.0 IP, 34 ER) in 16 games, 10 starts … is 1-1 with a 2.77 ERA (26.0 IP, 8 ER) in 15 career relief appearances, 2-8 with a 5.51 ERA (101.1 IP, 62 ER) in 20 career starts … was signed to a Minor League contract by the Rockies on Nov. 25, 2013 … was originally signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as a non-drafted international free agent on Dec. 13, 2004 … Flande will wear number 58.   • Castro, 21, is 0-0 with a 6.14 ERA (14.2 IP, 10 ER), 18 hits, five walks and 12 strikeouts in three stints with the Rockies in 2016 … has had one stint on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation (April 22-May 18) and two stints in Triple-A (May 18-20, June 6-13) … has been scored upon in six of his 19 relief appearances … in his career with Toronto (2015) and Colorado (2015-present), is 0-3 with four saves, a 6.12 ERA (32.1 IP, 22 ER), 15 walks and 30 strikeouts.
