Reds at the plate: David Ross notched the Reds' first hit of the game with a single in the seventh inning. It began the five-run game-winning rally against reliever Craig Hansen. Ryan Freel and Jeff Conine were hit by back-to-back pitches -- the second one with the bases loaded. Back-to-back bases-loaded walks by Brandon Phillips and Tyrell Godwin scored two more runs. Pinch-hitter Javier Valentin followed with a two-run double off of Kyle Snyder, also in the seventh.

Red Sox at the plate: Boston collected just three hits -- all singles -- by Bobby Scales Alex Cora and Alberto Castillo.

Reds on the mound: Fifth starter contender Bobby Livingston worked five scoreless innings with one hit, one walk and one hit batter allowed. Livingston struck out four. Mike Stanton worked a perfect sixth inning. Gary Majewski gave up one walk in one inning during his spring debut after being out most of camp with a sore right shoulder.

Red Sox on the mound: Daisuke Matsuzaka was somewhat wild, but the Japanese sensation pitched five no-hit innings without a run. Matsuzaka walked five and struck out six while throwing 104 pitches. Hansen was charged with five earned runs with two hits, two walks and two hit batters over two-thirds of an inning.

Grapefruit League records: Reds 16-8; Red Sox 12-11.

Up next: The Reds will travel to Clearwater on Tuesday for a 7:05 p.m. ET game against the Phillies. The Red Sox will return to City of Palms Park in Fort Myers for a 1:05 p.m. game against the Pirates.
