Angels at the plate: Kendry Morales, who subbed at third base in the seventh, hit a two-run homer off Kerry Wood with two outs in the seventh in his first at-bat.

Cubs at the plate: Cliff Floyd led off the fifth inning with his second spring homer and the first hit of the game off Ervin Santana. Floyd also drew a walk with the bases loaded in the eighth to account for the Cubs' other run.

Angels on the mound: Santana gave up one run on four hits and one walk over 6 1/3 innings, striking out four.

Cubs on the mound: Lefty Ted Lilly threw six scoreless innings, giving up four hits and walking one, while striking out four. Lilly got some help from third baseman Mark DeRosa, who was solid and made a dazzling stop of Vladimir Guerrero's hard-hit grounder in the sixth. Wood made his fifth Cactus League appearance, and gave up three runs on three hits in one inning.

Cactus League records: Angels 15-11; Cubs 13-12-1.

Up next: The two teams will square off again on Monday, but this time on the Angels' home turf in Tempe. Jason Marquis is slated to make his fifth start for the Cubs, while the Angels will counter with left-hander Joe Saunders.
