Sunday, March 25

Mariners at the plate: Raul Ibanez had a pair of extra-base hits, knocking an RBI double for the early lead in the first and blasting a two-run shot over the right-center-field wall to reclaim the lead in the fifth. Jose Lopez, Jose Vidro and Mike Morse each laced doubles, with Morse hitting a pair, knocking in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th.

Athletics at the plate: Antonio Perez hit a game-tying, two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Shannon Stewart doubled, and Travis Buck hit a run-scoring single to center in the fourth as part of his 3-for-5 day.

Mariners on the mound: Jake Woods pitched a strong three innings for the Mariners in just his second Cactus League start. Woods gave up a hit and a walk and struck out one while holding the A's scoreless. Arthur Rhodes pitched in his first Cactus League game in over a week. He tossed a scoreless seventh, giving up one hit and striking out one.

Athletics on the mound: Jason Windsor had an uneven outing, pitching five innings and yielding four runs on six hits. He hit a pair of batters and gave up the two-run homer from Ibanez. Brad Halsey pitched two scoreless innings of relief before giving up a pair of runs with two outs in the top of the ninth.

Cactus League records: Mariners 12-15, Athletics 13-11-1.

Up next: Miguel Batista takes the hill on Monday as the M's travel to Surprise, Ariz., for a game with the Rangers. The A's host the Rockies with Chad Gaudin making the start.
