A's reinstate RHP Hendriks from the DL; option RHP Triggs to Nashville

The Oakland A's reinstated right-handed pitcher Liam Hendriks from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Andrew Triggs to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.

Hendriks was placed on the disabled list May 10 retroactive to May 8 with a strained right triceps. He had an 8.27 ERA and .394 opponents batting average at the time of the injury but had 19 strikeouts and just one walk in 16.1 innings. The 27-year-old right-hander began a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton June 7 and was transferred to Nashville June 10. Hendriks combined for a 3.18 ERA in four rehab appearances overall.

Triggs was recalled from Nashville yesterday for his fifth stint with the A's this year and started against Los Angeles. He allowed a run on three hits in 3.0 innings and had a no decision in the A's 7-1 loss. The 27-year-old right-hander is now 0-0 with a 7.29 ERA in 11 games, including one start, with Oakland. Triggs is 2-1 with two saves, a 3.48 ERA and .179 opponents batting average in nine relief appearances with Nashville..
