Astros Sign Seven Players from 2016 MLB Draft Class

Six of top 10 players selected by Houston have signed professional contracts

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros announced today that the club has signed seven additional players who were selected in the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Those players include left-handed pitcher Brett Adcock, outfielder Stephen Wrenn, right-handed pitcher Nick Hernandez, left-handed pitcher Ryan Hartman, right-handed pitcher Dustin Hunt, outfielder Carmen Benedetti and infielder Brody Westmoreland. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The official announcement was made by Astros Director of Amateur Scouting Mike Elias.

Houston has now signed 13 of their 40 selections from the 2016 draft, including six of their top 10 selections.
