Padres conclude 2016 First-Year Player Draft by selecting 30 players on third day

The San Diego Padres today selected 30 players on the third and final day of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft and 43 players overall in the Draft, including SS Quinn Hoffman out of Cathedral Catholic High School (CA) in the 36th round, son of Padres legend Trevor Hoffman.

During the three-day First Year Player Draft, the Padres drafted two catchers, 10 infielders and seven outfielders. San Diego selected 24 pitchers in the draft, including 16 right-handed pitchers and eight left-handed pitchers. In all, the club selected 28 college players and 15 out of high school.
