Astros at the plate: Richard Hidalgo's sacrifice fly got Houston on the board, scoring Morgan Ensberg, who reached on an error. Ensberg also added an RBI single. Mike Rodriguez hit a two-run home run in the seventh to stretch the lead.

Cardinals at the plate: Scott Spiezio got on base three times, singling twice and drawing a walk. Rick Ankiel singled and walked.

Astros on the mound: Starter Fernando Nieve pitched two hitless innings, walking two and striking out one. Juan Gutierrez, Chad Qualls, Miguel Asencio and Rick White all pitched shutout ball.

Cardinals on the mound: Adam Wainwright became the first Cardinals starter to go four innings this spring. He didn't allow a hit or a run, walked two and struck out one. Josh Kinney struggled for a second straight game, again giving up three runs in an inning.

Grapefruit League records: Astros 3-2; Cardinals 3-3.

Up next: The Cardinals head south to Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday to play the Orioles. Chris Carpenter will pitch against Steve Trachsel, with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. ET. Houston returns home to face the Mets. Woody Williams will pitch against Tom Glavine with a first pitch of 1:05 p.m. ET.
