Phillies Ballpark Buzz: Top 5 Things to Know for Cubs Series, June 6-8

The Chicago Cubs are coming to town for a three-game series on Monday, June 6 (7:05 p.m.), Tuesday June 7 (7:05 p.m.), and Wednesday, June 8 (1:05 p.m.). Here's all that's happening around the ballpark.

  1. FORE, Monday is Golf Night!

On Monday, June 6, the Phillies will host at the ballpark.1987 Masters champion Larry Mize will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and fans will be able to work on their swing at golf hitting stations with local professionals at the Left Field and Third Base Gates.

In celebration of the Constellation Senior Players Championship being held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on June 9-12, the Phillies are offering a special ticket package to all local golf enthusiasts!The first 500 fans that purchase tickets for this event will receive a coupon for an exclusive Phillies golf towel giveaway.

  1. Two students from The Overbrook School for the Blind will be recognized on-field for their athletic achievements.

Also on Monday, June 6, two students, Njema Lennox and Chrisitan Molina, will be recognized on-field pregame for their athletic achievements at the Overbrook School for the Blind.

  • Njema Lennox, member of varsity track and cheerleading teams, was named "Outstanding Overbrook Cheerleader" in 2015. In this year's EAAB track tournament, Njema earned a medal in all four of the events she entered. At the 2016 EAAB cheerleading tournament, her cheerleading squad earned first place.
  • Christian Molina, captain of the school's track team, earned medals in four events at the EAAB track tournament, including first place in both the long jump & triple jump.
  1. Fans invited to write thank you notes to military members.

Behind Section 136 (outside of the Majestic Clubhouse Store) fans will be able to write thank you notes to military members on Monday, June 6. The notes will be mailed over the holidays and included in care packages being sent to active military that are deployed.

  1. 3,000+ kids coming to Little Rhino Read-Along hosted by Ryan and Krystle Howard.

It's the ultimate field trip experience on Wednesday, June 8! Students from all across the Delaware Valley are coming to the ballpark to take part in a special Little Rhino Read-Along program presented by The Phillies and the Ryan Howard Big Piece Foundation.

  • Ryan Howard and wife Krystle will read the Little Rhino book, "My New Team" as Phillies players act out the story on-field.
  • Plus, a youngster in the crowd will be chosen to participate in the read-along.
  • Ryan and Krystle will host a Q&A with the students.
  • Each child will receive a Little Rhino book, rally towel and a t-shirt. 
  • Proceeds of the program will benefit the The Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy through the Ryan Howard Big Piece Foundation.
