White Sox announce upcoming homestand events

Upcoming homestand features Sox Serve Week, 80s Night and themed giveaways

The Chicago White Sox have announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Nationals, Royals and Tigers. 
 
The Chicago White Sox celebrate Sox Serve Week - its eighth annual fundraising and community outreach campaign - from Monday, June 6, through Sunday, June 12. Sox Serve Week engages Sox fans through community outreach events that feature current players and special fundraising opportunities including auctions and more. It is presented in partnership with ComEd, Magellan Corporation, MillerCoors and Wintrust Community Banks. Since its inception, the annual week-long fundraising campaign has raised a combined total of more than $1 million for Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC). In addition, the homestand welcomes 80s Night - a new theme night on Friday, June 10. Returning fan-favorite giveaways and events this homestand include the Todd Frazier Caricature Free T-Shirt Thursday, presented by the Village of Bedford Park, on June 9; White Sox Hawaiian Shirt Giveaway, presented by Beggars Pizza, on June 11; and Coca-Cola Family Sunday on June 12.

Tuesday, June 7, 7:10 p.m. vs. Washington

Actor Colin Egglesfield will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Egglesfield is a Chicagoland native who graduated from Marian Catholic High School. He is best known for his roles in "All my Children," "The Client List," "Something Borrowed" and "S.W.A.T."
 
Wednesday, June 8, 7:10 p.m. vs. Washington

  • Ceremonial first pitch by Chicago Bears 2016 draft picks Jonathan Bullard (3rd round) and Deiondre' Hall (4th round)

Chicago Bears corner back Deiondre' Hall will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Hall played at the University of Northern Iowa before being drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2016. He was the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Chicago Bears defensive end Jonathan Bullard will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Bullard played at the University of Florida before being drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2016. He set career-highs in 2015 and led Florida with 17.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, earning First Team All-SEC honors.
 
Thursday, June 9, 7:10 p.m. vs. Washington

Chicago Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Trevathan played at the University of Kentucky before being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. He won Super Bowl 50 as a member of the Denver Broncos earlier this year before being acquired by the Chicago Bears.
 
Former Chicago Tribune reporter and Northwestern alumnus Kim Barker will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Barker's book, The Taliban Shuffle, was the inspiration behind the comedy "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" starring Tina Fey. She was the Tribune's correspondent in South Asia from 2004 to 2009.
 
Hey Monea will perform a pre-game Rock the Sox acoustic set. The band won an international contest sponsored by the Hard Rock Cafe to open for Bruce Springsteen in London at the 2012 Hard Rock Calling festival. They have also opened for Bare Naked Ladies, Doobie Brothers, Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock and Lady Antebellum.
 
The White Sox invite fans to celebrate Guys Night on Thursday, June 9. The first 500 fans who purchase their tickets through whitesox.com/guys will receive a ticket voucher for an exclusive White Sox bottle opener hat.

Jeff Mauro, a Chicago native and White Sox fan, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch following his pre-game BBQ Battle vs. Hall-of-Fame slugger Frank Thomas. Mauro is the host of the Food Network series "Sandwich King," "$24 in 24 Hours" and "The Scoop." He was the winner of the seventh season of the Food Network Star competition. Mauro also is the co-owner of the Chicago sandwich shop Pork and Mindy's at 1623 N. Milwaukee in Chicago. The White Sox invite fans to celebrate 80s Night at the ballpark. Fans are invited to show off their classic 80s style - from fanny packs and scrunchies to velour track suits and dancewear - as the ballpark throws back to the totally awesome 80s. The #SoxSocial Lounge will have a new look, as it is transformed into the Sox arcade for the new theme night. Postgame entertainment will include a performance by a Michael Jackson impersonator as well as fireworks, presented by Magellan Corporation, set to 80s music.
 
Saturday, June 11, 1:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City

Country music singer/songwriter Brice Long will sing the National Anthem. Long co-wrote Gary Allan's 2004 No. 1 single "Nothing on but the Radio" as well as Randy Houser's singles "Anything Goes" and "Like a Cowboy."
 
A young White Sox fan will announce play ball in honor of PLAY BALL Weekend, a league-wide effort by MLB and all 30 Clubs to engage young fans and celebrate the continued support of participation in baseball and softball. PLAY BALL Weekend is a recognition of all the great work that youth leagues, coaches and parents do to support the growth of the game in all our communities. It is an extension of the PLAY BALL initiative, which launched in 2015 as the sport's largest effort to encourage widespread participation in both formal and casual baseball and softball activities. 
 
The White Sox will celebrate all fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father-figures and their daughters during Father-Daughter Day on Saturday, June 11. Family-friendly entertainment during the game will include a face painter and balloonist. Fans can purchase specially priced tickets for this Father's Day celebration at whitesox.com/dad.

Coca-Cola Family Sunday offers tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. This weekend's entertainment includes children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloonists and a caricature artist. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kids menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays.
 
Fans of all ages are invited to celebrate Southpaw's birthday on Sunday, June 12. White Sox Wives and Volunteer Corps members will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for TAPS and USO of Illinois families on this day in honor of Sox Serve Week. Cash donations also will be accepted. All fans in attendance at the game will receive a party favor - an oversized trading card featuring Southpaw, presented by Topps.
 
The first 500 fans to purchase "Selfie Sunday" tickets will have the opportunity to enter the ballpark early for a "selfie" photo session with select White Sox players and/or coaches. Each ticket includes both a ticket to the Selfie Sunday event as well as a Lower Box ticket for the game. The Chicago White Sox honor members of the United States Navy at the 2016 Navy Night. A special pregame ceremony will include 88 Naval Recruits from throughout the Chicagoland area being sworn into the Navy on the field at the ballpark. Rear Admiral Stephen C. Evans will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on behalf of the Navy. The organization is one of only two Major League Clubs to hold a Navy Recruit Division enlistment. This is the 32nd consecutive year that the White Sox have held Navy Recruit Division that will be known as the Chicago White Sox Division.
