The Nationals will offer premium-priced games for 14 prime matchups during the season and Opening Day on April 2 against the Marlins. The 14 games include April 27-28 vs. the Mets, the May 18-20 series vs. the Orioles, June 2 when the Nationals host the Padres, June 23 vs. the Indians, July 4 vs. the Cubs, Aug. 4 vs. the Cardinals, Aug. 17-18 vs. the Mets, Sept. 1 vs. the Giants and Sept. 22-23, when the Nationals host the Philadelphia Phillies. Buyers may purchase tickets for no more than 19 games, and only 12 tickets per game may be purchased at the box office window.
The Nationals also will offer discount tickets to special groups throughout the season. For all non-premium, non-holiday games held Monday through Thursday, senior citizens, government employees, active members of the military and college students will receive a $3 discount off any ticket priced at $10 or more. Tickets must be purchased on game day at the RFK Stadium box office with the appropriate ID. Transactions are limited to one ticket per person.
Tickets also may be purchased by logging on to nationals.com.
FYI: The Nationals will have a full-squad workout on Tuesday, but manager Manny Acta will first address the team for the second time in less than a week. He addressed the pitchers and catchers last Wednesday.
"I told the pitchers [and catchers] the other day I was not going to go on too long," Acta said. "I don't want to repeat myself four or five days later."
Quote of the day: "I'm not expecting you or any of the other writers to pick a team that finished dead last the last three years and is looking for four starters in Spring Training to win the division. That would probably cost a few of you guys your jobs if you do that. ... We respect everybody's opinion. We would rather be optimistic, than realistic in our case." -- Acta
