WASHINGTON -- The Nationals announced that their March 29 Spring Training game against the Orioles at Space Coast Stadium has been moved up to March 28. The game will still be played at Space Coast Stadium, and game time remains at 1:05 p.m. ET.
March 28 becomes a split-squad day, with half the team traveling to Jupiter, Fla., to take on the Marlins at 1:05 p.m. ET.
All tickets sold to the originally-scheduled March 29 game in Viera will be honored on March 28. Fans who are unable to attend the March 28 contest may exchange their tickets for another Nationals Spring Training game at Space Coast Stadium in 2007, subject to availability.
Washington and Baltimore will also play their regularly-scheduled exhibition game in Columbus, Ohio, on March 29 at 4:05 p.m.
Individual-game tickets for the Nationals' exhibition games at Space Coast Stadium are now on sale. Fans can purchase these tickets on Nationals.com.
In other news, contrary to published reports, the Nationals are not one of the three teams in the running to acquire right-hander Steve Trachsel, who spent the last six years with the Mets.
The Nationals did pursue Trachsel last month, but both parties later decided to go in a different direction. The Nationals have at least 11 pitchers vying for four spots in the rotation.
