The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Alec Mills from Northwest Arkansas as the 26th man for today's split doubleheader with the Boston Red Sox. Mills, 24, a 22nd-round pick by the Royals in 2012, is 1-1 with a 2.36 ERA in seven starts for the Naturals. He leads the Texas League with 44 strikeouts in 42.0 innings this season.

The Royals also announced that third baseman Mike Moustakas will begin a rehab assignment with Northwest Arkansas this evening, while left-handed pitcher Mike Minor will have his rehab assignment transferred to Omaha (AAA). Minor will make his first rehab start for the Storm Chasers on Friday at Reno.
