Upcoming homestand features homecoming celebration, $25 for 25 campaign

The Chicago White Sox have announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Astros, Royals and Indians. 
 
On May 18-19, Chicago White Sox Charities will celebrate 25 years of giving back to the Chicagoland community with $25 for 25-its first ever dedicated 25-hour fundraising campaign. The campaign begins on whitesox.com/Sox25 at noon on Wednesday, May 18, and concludes at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. In honor of the anniversary, CWSC invites fans to support the organization's ongoing community outreach with a contribution of $25 or more during the 25-hour campaign. Donors will have the opportunity to win a new prize during each hour of the campaign, with the final hour of the campaign-from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19-designated as a "power hour" with the opportunity to win 25 different prizes
  
The homestand also features Homecoming Weekend, presented by the Village of Bedford Park. Fans are invited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chicago White Sox baseball at U.S. Cellular Field on May 20-22. Two-time All-Star pitcher Roberto Hernandez, who ranks third on the White Sox all-time save list; centerfielder Lance Johnson, who ranks fourth on the White Sox all-time stolen base list; 1993 American League Cy Young Winner Jack "Black Jack" McDowell; and seven-time All-Star Tim Raines are all scheduled to attend the festivities throughout the series vs. Kansas City. The homestand welcomes the return of fan-favorite giveaways and events, including Free T-Shirt Thursday, presented by Prairie Farms and North Star Frozen Treats, on May 19; Weather Day, presented by WGN, on May 25; and Coca-Cola Family Sunday on May 22.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Joshua Bellamy will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Bellamy played at the University of Louisville before being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. He collected 224 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 19 receptions for the Chicago Bears in 2015.
 
Wednesday, May 18, 7:10 p.m. vs. Houston

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of organ and tissue donor awareness.
 
Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) invites White Sox fans to celebrate 25 years of giving with $25 for 25. This campaign is a dedicated 25-hour fundraising opportunity on May 18-19 that provides support for CWSC's outreach to the Chicagoland community. The K Zone For Sale returns for its third season as a ballpark promotion with an expanded seating area in Sections 154-156 - a total of more than 1,100 seats. When Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in these sections receive a "K Zone For Sale" T-shirt and strikeout card, which can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are available for $20 on Thursday at whitesox.com/kzone. Please note that the pitching rotation is subject to change.
 
Chicago Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot will throw a ceremonial first pitch, as determined by a social media contest between her and teammates Allie Quigley, Cappie Pondexter and Tamera Young. Vandersloot led the WNBA in assists in 2015, earning second team all-WNBA honors.
 
Country music singer/songwriter Olivia Lane will perform a pregame Rock the Sox acoustic performance. She was featured in Entertainment Weekly's Breaking Big Fall 2015 acts and dubbed by Rolling Stone Country as "10 New Country Artists You Need To Know." She recently debuted her single "Make My Own Sunshine" on Hallmark's Home & Family. 
 
Friday, May 20, 7:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City

Fans are invited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chicago White Sox baseball at U.S. Cellular Field on May 20-22 with Homecoming Weekend, presented by the Village of Bedford Park. White Sox greats Jack McDowell, Tim Raines, Roberto Hernandez and Lance Johnson will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of their role helping create iconic moments throughout the ballpark's history. They also will participate in a pregame on-field chat with White Sox public address announcer Gene Honda around 6:30 p.m. Fans are invited to stay after the game for a postgame fireworks display, presented by the Village of Bedford Park.
 
Fans interested in pursuing a career in sports are invited to attend the White Sox Sports Marketing Career Fair on May 20. Fans who purchase tickets through whitesox.com/job will have access to two hours of networking with some of the top sports organizations in Chicago.

Homecoming Weekend, presented by the Village of Bedford Park, continues with White Sox greats Jack McDowell, Tim Raines, Roberto Hernandez and Lance Johnson. Saturday's events include a 25th Ballpark Anniversary Canvas giveaway, presented by Miller Lite, for the first 20,000 fans ages 21 and over.
 
Eleven-year-old Aidan Bertocchini will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of Boy Scout Day. Bertocchini has changed countless lives through a combination of keen observations and a heartwarming instinct to help others. At six years old, Aidan used his family members' help and his piggy bank money to raise $1,000 to purchase diapers for the Oak Park-River Forest Food Pantry. For his efforts, the Oak Park Community Foundation named Aidan its 2015 Outstanding Young Person, which included a $1,000 grant that Aidan gave to the Oak Park-River Forest Food Pantry.
 
Country music artist Tucker Beathard will perform a pregame Rock the Sox acoustic performance. Beathard is the son of hitmaker Casey Beathard - whose first breakout song was Kenny Chesney's "No Shoes" - and brother of University of Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard also is a former baseball player, who gave up a baseball scholarship to pursue his music career. His first single "Rock On" continues to climb on Billboard's Country Airplay after nine weeks, currently ranking at No. 26.

Homecoming Weekend, presented by the Village of Bedford Park, concludes with White Sox greats Jack McDowell, Tim Raines, Roberto Hernandez and Lance Johnson. They are scheduled to be joined in a pregame ceremony by Harold Baines, Michael Huff, Donn Pall and Dan Pasqua.
 
Coca-Cola Family Sunday offers tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. This weekend's entertainment includes children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), three face painters, three balloonists, and a caricature artist. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kids menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays.
 
Monday, May 23, 4:10 & 7:10 p.m. vs. Cleveland (Straight Double Header)
This is a rescheduled game from the White Sox rainout vs. Cleveland on April 10. Previously purchased tickets, parking passes and patio tickets from April 10, 2016, must be exchanged for tickets of equal or less value to any future White Sox regular-season home game (including but not limited to the May 23 doubleheader). Tickets for May 23 will be honored for both games. Gates to the ballpark will open at 3:10 p.m. The parking lots will be open at 2:10 p.m.

Three-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. In 2012, Castroneves became the youngest driver to win the Indy 500 twice, becoming the only driver ever to win the race in his first two attempts. He also won the fifth season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" with partner Julianne Hough.
 
Actor and comedian Deon Cole also will throw out a ceremonial pitch prior to Tuesday's game. The Chicago native stars in the ABC show "Black-ish" and the movie "Barbershop 3". He also has been a writer on the Conan O'Brien show since 2009. He has appeared in a number of comedic bits on the show and he and the rest of the staff have received two Primetime Emmy nominations.
 
Wednesday, May 25, 1:10 p.m. vs. Cleveland

Weather Day, presented by WGN, is an educational field trip that leaves the confines of the classroom behind for a real-world lesson. It combines the excitement of White Sox baseball with an interactive and fun program about severe weather specific to our region with an on-field presentation by WGN's very own Tom Skilling. Weather Day will be highlighted by weather experiments, trivia, video and sound effects.
 
Second graders from James Ward Elementary School will sign the National Anthem as it is performed by White Sox anthemist Gina Glocksen.
 
Barrington High School alumnus and WGN anchor Lauren Magiera will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Magiera recently joined WGN News from the NFL Green Bay Packers, where she was a co-host of a weekly 30-minute pregame show with Packers Hall of Famer Larry McCarren. She also produced weekly feature stories, served as the field reporter for home games and created online content for Packers.com.
