Freeway Series - Dodgers Take On Angels Monday And Tuesday

LOS ANGELES - The Dodgers conclude their third homestand of the season with a two-game series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, May 16 (RHP Matt Shoemaker vs. RHP Kenta Maeda) and Tuesday, May 17 (RHP Jered Weaver vs. LHP Clayton Kershaw). Both contests against Anaheim take place at 7:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 5:10 p.m. Tickets for the Freeway Series driven by Lexus are available and can be purchased by calling 866-DODGERS or by visiting www.dodgers.com/tickets.

For the series against the Angels, Levy Restaurants will offer the Freeway Series Wrap (image attached) at the Marketplace on the field level and Healthy Carts on the loge and reserve levels. The L.A. wrap features grilled chicken breast, sundried tomatoes, pickled red onion and fresh spinach in a whole wheat tortilla. This item has a limited availability.

GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and recording artist Victoria Monét will perform the national anthem Monday.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jesus Martinez of Baldwin Park. Martinez joined the Army in 2006, deployed to Iraq from 2007 to 2008 and to Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010. He returned to the U.S. for just one year before serving another deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, where he assumed the position of Communications Platoon Sergeant. He is currently an Army recruiter in Lakewood.

The Dodgers conclude the Freeway Series Tuesday with a 7:10 p.m. game against the Angels. All auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:10 p.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a welcome mat presented by Farmer John (image attached).

Mike Shea, 2014 U.S. Paralympic silver medalist and Wings for Life ambassador, will throw an honorary first pitch. Emmy Award-winning entertainment journalist Nancy O'Dell will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Reserve Chief Warrant Officer Kirk Stricker of Torrington, WY. Stricker joined the Marines when he was 18, has also served in the U.S. Army and has 22 years of military service. As a chief warrant officer for the Army Reserve, he is a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. His deployments include Kuwait, Iraq, Korea, Okinawa and mainland Japan.

The Dodger Stadium Express offers two express services to Dodger Stadium: the Dodger Stadium Express Union Station and the Dodger Stadium Express South Bay.
