Pipeline preview: Cardinals' Bader in midst of torrid stretch

Pipeline preview: Cardinals' Bader in midst of torrid stretch

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:

Hitter to watch: Harrison Bader (Cardinals' No. 10)
Everything Bader hits seems to find a hole lately. The Cardinals' prospect has been on fire lately and is the middle of a 13-game hitting streak. Bader is hitting .466 during the streak and batting .379 on the year -- his first season at the Double-A level. He's coming off a 4-for-5 performance on Tuesday, in which he tripled and belted two homers. After Wednesday's day off, Bader and the Springfield Cardinals will be back in action tonight at 7:10 p.m. on MiLB.TV.

Pitcher to watch: Tyler Glasnow (Pirates' No. 1)
There's a reason Glasnow is regarded as the No. 8 prospect in all of baseball and he's showing it every time he steps on the mound. The right-hander has a 1.64 ERA through his first six starts this season and has struck out 48 in 33 innings. Glasnow has also thrown 18 consecutive scoreless innings, spanning his last three starts. He meets Syracuse at 6:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV.

Duel of the day: Mike Soroka (Braves' No. 13) vs. Jonathan Hernandez (Rangers' No. 28), Rome at Hickory (6 p.m. ET)
Soroka, a first-round pick a season ago, is still looking for his first professional win. The 18-year old right-hander went 0-2 in 2015 and is 0-3 to start the 2016 campaign, however that's not indicative of how he's pitched. Soroka has held opponents scoreless in two of his last three starts and has a 2.32 ERA through six outings this season.

Top Prospects: Soroka, ATL

At just 19 years of age, Hernandez still has plenty of room for improvement, but the right-hander is already pretty polished and has been impressive since signing with the Rangers in 2013. Hernandez is 4-1 with a 3.70 ERA this season and has won each of his last four starts.
