A's recall RHP J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Nashville
The Oakland A's recalled right-handed pitcher J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn to Nashville, the club announced today.
Wendelken was acquired by the A's with left-handed pitcher Zack Erwin from the Chicago White Sox for infielder Brett Lawrie on Dec. 9, 2015. His first appearance for the A's will be his Major League debut.
This season with Nashville, Wendelken is 0-1 with a save and a 3.27 ERA in 10 games. Left-handers are hitting .235 against him while righties are batting .357. He has yet to allow a run in 3.2 innings on the road, and has a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 20-to-4.
Hahn began the season with Nashville before being recalled by the A's on April 30. He has made two starts with the A's, tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings at home against Houston that night before allowing four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings last night at Baltimore.
