Manny Machado's hot start has earned the Orioles third baseman American League Player of the Month honors for April.
Machado put together a slash line of .344/.394/.667 with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 16 RBIs, seven walks and 20 runs scored in the season's first month. The 23-year-old also committed only one error in the field while leading the AL with 33 hits.
Previous Orioles to be named Player of the Month include Chris Davis (April 2013), Melvin Mora (May 2004, August 2008), Brian Roberts (April 2005), Albert Belle (September 1999, June 2000) and Rafael Palmeiro (June 1998).
