Colorado Rockies reinstate outfielder Charlie Blackmon from 15-day disabled list
DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated outfielder Charlie Blackmon from the 15-day disabled list (turf toe, left foot) and have optioned outfielder Brandon Barnes to Triple-A Albuquerque.
- Blackmon, 29, was placed on the 15-day disabled list April 14 due to turf toe in his left foot … he played in two games on a rehab assignment with High-A Modesto, and combined to go 1-for-8 with one run and one strikeout … in eight games for the Rockies this season, is 5-for-27 (.185) with six runs, two doubles, one triple, three RBI, two walks and one stolen base … over parts of six seasons with Colorado, has batted .287 (485-for-1,691) with 240 runs, 86 doubles, 15 triples, 45 home runs, 172 RBI, 93 walks and 85 stolen bases … stole 43 bases in 2015, which was a new career high and the third-most in the NL … the 43 steals were the fifth-most in a single season in franchise history. - Barnes, 29, made his second Opening Day roster in three seasons with Colorado … in 17 games (six starts) with the Rockies this season, went 6-for-31 (.194) with one run, two doubles, one triple, four RBI, one stolen base and two walks … across parts of five seasons with Houston (2012-2013) and Colorado (2014-2016), has batted .243 (263-for-1,084) with 122 runs, 52 doubles, eight triples, 19 home runs, 96 RBI, 63 walks and 21 stolen bases.
