Colorado Rockies place pitcher Jorge De La Rosa on disabled list

Right-handed pitcher Eddie Butler recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies today placed left-handed pitcher Jorge De La Rosa on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained left groin and recalled right-hander Eddie Butler from Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Butler, who turned 25 on March 13, is 2-0 with a 4.09 ERA (22.0 IP, 10 ER) in four starts at Albuquerque … he has fanned 14 with six walks …  Butler made his most recent appearance on April 22, beating Reno … he allowed nine hits and three runs in a 7-3 win … Butler was a member of the Opening Day roster in 2015, posting a 3-10 record and 5.90 ERA (79.1 IP, 52 ER) in 16 starts with 42 walks and 44 strikeouts … he has a career record of 4-11 with a 6.04 ERA (95.1 IP, 64 ER) in 19 Major League starts (2014-15) with 49 walks and 47 strikeouts.
     
  • De La Rosa, who turned 35 on April 5, is 1-3 with a 10.18 ERA (20.1 IP, 23 ER) with 12 walks and 28 strikeouts … he has allowed seven home runs … De La Rosa made his second Opening Day start April 4 at Arizona … the winningest pitcher in Colorado Rockies history, De La Rosa has a career Major League record of 94-78 with a 4.64 ERA (1301.2 IP, 671 ER) in 284 games, 222 starts, over parts of 13 seasons with Milwaukee (2004-06), Kansas City (2006-07) and Colorado (2008-16) … as a Rockie, he is 79-55 with a 4.32 ERA (1027.2 IP, 493 ER) in 187 games, 181 starts … with Colorado, De La Rosa is 49-18 with a 4.31 ERA (516.0 IP, 247 ER) in 94 games, 90 starts, at Coors Field.
