LHP Felix Doubront scheduled for UCL surgery tomorrow

Oakland A's left-handed pitcher Felix Doubront was seen today by Dr. Timothy Kremchek in Cincinnati for an evaluation of his left elbow and an MRI review. Dr. Kremchek is of the opinion that Doubront needs ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction on his left elbow and the surgery is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Beacon Orthopedics. Additional details will be available following the surgery.

Doubront went 1-1 with a save and a 5.82 ERA in six games, including four starts, this spring. He left his last Spring Training start on April 2 against San Francisco after just one inning with the elbow injury. The 28-year-old left-hander combined with Toronto and Oakland to go 3-3 with a save and a 5.50 ERA in 16 games, including 12 starts, last year.
