DETROIT -- World Series tickets on sale to the public here were gone almost as quickly as Magglio Ordonez's home run to put the Tigers in it.
Tickets for the four potential World Series games at Comerica Park on sale online and by phone sold out in about 30 minutes on Monday morning, according to Tigers vice president of marketing and ticket sales Bob Raymond. About 10,000 tickets were made available.
The Tigers tried to put as many tickets on sale to the general public as they could, Raymond said, and the total ended up being higher than expected. Though the Tigers had a second sale on Division Series tickets earlier this month as more became available, Raymond said that they're not anticipating that happening this time.
