Gausman on track to return to O's mid-April

BALTIMORE -- Kevin Gausman is slated to throw a 35-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday, and he remains on track to return to the team on April 19.

Gausman, on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis, will throw a three-inning outing and then a five-inning outing before he's deemed good to go. Manager Buck Showalter said the team hasn't fully committed to where Gausman will complete his rehab starts.

Lefty reliever Brian Matusz (lower back issue) will throw for Double-A Bowie on Thursday, and the hope is that he'll join the O's after that.
