Cardinals set 2016 Opening Day roster

PITTSBURGH -- The Cardinals announced their 25-man roster on Sunday morning, hours before they were to open the Major League Baseball season with a 12:05 p.m. CT game in Pittsburgh.

The Opening Day roster:

Starting pitchers: Adam Wainwright, Michael Wacha, Mike Leake, Jaime Garcia, Carlos Martinez

Relievers: Trevor Rosenthal, Kevin Siegrist, Seung Hwan Oh, Seth Maness, Jonathan Broxton, Tyler Lyons, Matt Bowman

Catchers: Yadier Molina, Eric Fryer

Infielders: Matt Carpenter, Jedd Gyorko, Kolten Wong, Brandon Moss, Matt Adams, Greg Garcia

Outfielders: Matt Holliday, Randal Grichuk, Stephen Piscotty, Tommy Pham, Jeremy Hazelbaker

Disabled list: Jordan Walden, Lance Lynn, Mitch Harris, Jhonny Peralta, Brayan Pena, Tejada

In order to clear space on the 40-man roster for Fryer and Hazelbaker, the Cardinals moved Lynn to the 60-day disabled list and designated left-hander Jayson Aquino for assignment.
