Price gets first taste of Red Sox-Yanks rivalry

David Price will get his first taste of one of the most storied rivalries in sports today, when his Red Sox host the Yankees under the lights in Fort Myers, Fla.

Although the 30-year-old left-hander is no stranger to either of these American League East clubs, having spent six-plus years with Tampa Bay and the latter half of last season with Toronto, he is new to this rivalry. Price became one of the biggest free-agent splashes of the offseason in December, when the Red Sox signed him to a seven-year, $217 million deal.

Fans can catch Price's outing against the Yankees as well as several other Cactus and Grapefruit League contests streaming live on MLB.TV. Here's a few things to watch for throughout today's spring slate (all times ET):

Price joins Red Sox-Yankees rivalry: NYY@BOS, 6:05 p.m., MLB.TV
Today brings the second meeting of the spring between these division opponents, who will clash 19 times in the regular season. It'll be the second Grapefruit League start for Price, who went three innings in his debut last week but yielded a pair of solo home runs. It wasn't cause for concern for the veteran hurler, however.

"I'm process-oriented," Price said after that start. "I'm not results-oriented at all. You can't worry about the results. Have to stay focused on your process, and that's what I do."

Ivan Nova gets the ball for New York as he continues to compete for a place in the Yankees' rotation. Nova has been solid this spring, and tossed three scoreless frames last week against the Mets.

Kennedy goes for Royals: KC@CIN, 4:05 p.m., MLB.TV
Right-hander Ian Kennedy gets the start for the defending World Series champions when they meet the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark. Kennedy has surrendered two earned runs through five innings with his new club this spring. Brandon Finnegan will start for the Reds, facing his former team. Finnegan was a first-round Draft selection of the Royals in 2014 but dealt as part of the Johnny Cueto deal last June.

American League West showdown: SEA@LAA, 4:10 p.m., MLB.TV
Two division rivals will meet in Tempe, Ariz., when the Angels host the Mariners. Right-hander Cody Martin will make his first Cactus League start for Seattle in place of Wade Miley, who will avoid pitching against the divisional opponent for a second time this spring by getting some work vs. Minor Leaguers in Peoria. Martin was claimed off waivers from the A's this winter and has pitched twice in relief, giving up four hits and two runs in five innings. Los Angeles will send Andrew Heaney to the mound; Heaney tossed two scoreless frames in his spring debut last week.

Tillman makes spring debut: BAL@TOR, 1:07 p.m., Gameday Audio
Righty Chris Tillman will toe the rubber for the first time this spring when the O's meet the Blue Jays in Dunedin, Fla. Tillman has been limited by an injury to his right hip flexor but pitched in a 'B' game last Thursday vs. the Pirates and followed that with a bullpen session on Sunday. The Blue Jays, who were off on Monday, will resume play with Jesse Chavez on the mound, followed by Brett Cecil, Drew Storen, Roberto Osuna and Chad Jenkins.

Sox, Dodgers meet at Camelback: LAD@CWS, 4:05 p.m.
The hot-hitting Avisail Garcia will be back in the lineup for the White Sox when they take on their fellow Camelback Ranch tenants, the Dodgers. Garcia, who has 11 RBIs and 10 hits this spring, had the day off on Monday but will be back at it against Japanese right-hander Kenta Maeda.

This will be Maeda's third time suiting up for the Dodgers, with whom he signed an eight-year deal this offseason. The White Sox will counter with Jose Quintana, making his second Cactus League appearance. The game is the final one for Adrian Gonzalez before he leaves camp to play for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic qualifier in Mexicali.
