The Pittsburgh Pirates and the AMPD Group have announced today the grand opening of the AMPD Group's third Steel Cactus Mexican Restaurante and Cantina, located at PNC Park. This new restaurant, which is scheduled to open in March, will be in a prime location on Federal Street on the North Shore, formerly operating as Dominic's Famous Deli and Bottle Shop.
Steel Cactus provides guests with the perfect blend of unique Mexican dishes with a Cantina party atmosphere.
The opening represents the 10th AMPD Group property to date.
"The addition of Steel Cactus Mexican Restaurante and Cantina to PNC Park will further enhance and expand the offerings available to our fans on game days, but also year-round for North Shore patrons," said Pirates President Frank Coonelly. "AMPD Group has been a great business partner whose continued presence on the North Shore speaks to the ever increasing viability of the North Shore as true entertainment destination."
Steel Cactus at PNC Park will offer lunch, dinner, and game day specials. The menu will replicate its preceding locations in the historic South Side and the original Shadyside location which opened its doors on Walnut Street in June 2012.
It features a vast variety of Mexican dishes including house favorites like the Chipotle Brisket Tacos (smoked brisket, prickly pear chipotle BBQ, pomegranate seeds, tempura jalapenos, cilantro & jack cheese), Mexican Street Corn (grilled and topped with chipotle lime crema, queso fresco, and cilantro), and an ample selection of homemade salsas and fresh tortilla chips.
AMPD Group is a dynamic entertainment hospitality development and hospitality company with nine locations including Ten Penny, Local Bar and Kitchen, Diesel Club Lounge, Skybar, Delanie's Coffee and Penn Society.
