Giants' golf outing set for Monday in Napa

Registration deadline approaching for annual event supporting Junior Giants

SAN FRANCISCO -- Wednesday is the deadline to sign up for one of the few remaining spots in next Monday's Giants Napa Golf Outing, presented by Compadres Rio Grille and the Meritage Resort and Spa.

Fees start at $750 per twosome.

The 17th annual event will be held at the Napa Valley Country Club. Registration and breakfast start at 8:30 a.m. PT at the club, followed by a shotgun start to the event at 10 a.m. An awards reception will be held at Compadres Rio Grille after the outing.

Former players expected to participate include Rich Aurilia, Jim Barr, Vida Blue, Fred Breining, Ed Bressoud, Pat Burrell, Don Carrithers, Jesse Foppert, Erik Johnson, Noah Lowry, Rich Murray, Nate Oliver, Rich Robertson and Randy Winn.

Proceeds benefit the Giants Community Fund's Junior Giants program, a free, non-competitive program serving youth 5-18 years old, both in the inner cities and rural areas in California, Nevada and Oregon. Along with the fundamentals of baseball, the leagues stress character development, literacy and healthy living.
