Mets prospect Garcia receives 80-game suspension

Mets Minor League third baseman Eudor Garcia has been suspended 80 games without pay for violating Minor League Baseball's drug prevention and treatment program.

The 21-year-old Garcia tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs Bumetanide and Furosemide.

Garcia, the club's No. 20 prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, hit .296/.340/.442 in 105 games for Class A Savannah in 2015. He is currently on Class A Columbia's roster, and his suspension will begin at the start of the '16 season.
