The Miami Marlins today announced their 2016 Minor League on-field personnel, including naming Gary Cathcart as Field Coordinator, Joe Dillon as Hitting Coordinator and Mike Cather as Pitching Coordinator. In addition, the organization has promoted Joe Coleman to Senior Advisor of Pitching Development, Joe Lisewski to Minor League Video Coordinator and announced the return of Tommy Thompson as Senior Advisor of Player Development. The announcements were made by Marlins Vice President of Player Development Marc DelPiano.
Along with Cathcart, Dillon and Cather, additional Minor League coordinators for the Marlins will be: Jeff Schwarz - Assistant Pitching Coordinator, Jorge Hernandez - Infield Coordinator, Bobby Ramos - Catching Coordinator, John Duffy - Rehab Pitching Coordinator, Gene Basham - Training & Rehab Coordinator, and Mark Brennan - Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.
The Coaching staff at Triple-A New Orleans will include: Manager Arnie Beyeler, Pitching Coach Derek Botelho, Hitting Coach Paul Phillips, Coach Ronnie Deck, Athletic Trainer Brian Bobier and Strength & Conditioning Coach Quentin Eberhardt.
At Double-A Jacksonville, joining Manager Dave Berg will be: Pitching Coach Storm Davis, Hitting Coach Rich Arena, Coach John Pachot, Athletic Trainer Cesar Roman and Strength & Conditioning Coach Robert Reichert.
At High-A Jupiter the coaching staff will be: Manager Randy Ready, Pitching Coach Jeremy Powell, Hitting Coach Frank Moore and Athletic Trainer Ben Cates.
Joining Manager Kevin Randel at Low-A Greensboro are: Pitching Coach Brendan Sagara, Hitting Coach Rigoberto Silverio, Coach Jose Ceballos and Athletic Trainer Michael Bibbo.
The Coaching staff at Short-A Batavia will include: Manager Angel Espada, Hitting Coach Luis Quinones, Coach TJ Gamba and Athletic Trainer Eric Reigelsberger.
The Marlins' Gulf Coast League entry will have: Manager Julio Bruno, Pitching Coach Manny Olivera, Hitting Coach Danny Santin, Coach Dominick Ambrosini, Athletic Trainer Patrick Amorelli and Strength & Conditioning Coach Trevor Ging.
